AyGeeTee - "C'mon Baby/Secret Meeting Place" (Time Wharp Remix)

Been a fan of Time Wharp ever since I heard "1992" on Don't Die Wondering way back in August of last year.  I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't kept up as closely as I should have, though.  I only started following on SoundCloud yesterday (blush).  And yet, it was perfect timing because I got to see his remix of AyGeeTee pop up in my list of incoming tracks.  Time Wharp's remix sounds something like Black Dice and Four Tet playing vintage video games in a room full of rhythmically-inclined electronic staplers, tap-happy typewriters and sputtering diesel engines.  I think they're watching porn, too.  Both artists have releases out now on AMDISCS: AyGeeTee's Soul LP and Time Wharp's Later LP.

Teams - "Whxt Txrns U Xn"

Knoxville transplant Sean Bowie has been making quite a name for himself as Teams.  His sample-based beats began bubbling up across the blogosphere last spring, and the hype has only increased since then.  Following up on last year's We Have A Room With Everything EP for AMDISCS and January's collaborative 12" with Star Slinger on Mexican Summer,  Teams is readying his Dxys Xff LP for release on AMDISCS this March.  With the above artwork and a name like "Whxt Txrns U Xn," you might think we're in for more of the "porn step" of earlier track "Stunts," yet the song has a relatively simple beat/gaze/glam structure.  It's a channel-churning, constantly building whirlwind of hip-hop beats, spinning metallic plates and chopped up vocals.  And it promises very well for Teams' debut full-length.  Check "Whxt Txrns U Xn" and a demo of "Dxys Xff" below.

New Com Truise - "Colorvision"

"A new jam!" from synth wizard Com Truise (aka Seth Haley).  With its fat analog bass riff and sci-fi synthesizers, "Colorvision" might well soundtrack a B movie about a team of Jamaican ambassadors sent to the outer reaches of space to interact with extraterrestrial life forms.

Colorvision (WIP) by Com Truise

If "Colorvision" leaves you begging for more, as it should, Haley's Cyanide Sisters EP dropped last week on Ghostly International.  Originally offered as a free download through AMDISCS last summer, the Ghostly version is expanded and remastered with its tracklist shuffled around.  A liquid hot mess of warbly wave lengths and squelching synth tones, the Cyanide Sisters EP is highly recommended.  Support the arts by buying it.
